✦ How-To Guide
Resume Builder
Turn your profile into a polished, ATS-ready resume in under a minute.
What it does
Builds a full resume from your profile, or rebuilds an old one you upload. It picks a clean template, writes your summary, and lists the keywords hiring systems scan for. Every version lands in your resume library, where you can filter master, tailored, and custom copies.
Before you start
- Complete your profile — experience, education, and skills feed the resume.
- Have your old resume file ready if you want to rebuild it.
- Decide your target role so the resume can lead with it.
How to use Resume Builder
Open the Resumes page.
Click Generate New Resume/CV to build from your profile.
Enter your target role.
Choose a template, or leave it on Auto.
💡 Leave Auto on and Climbr matches the layout to your target role without extra effort.
Pick a tone.
Add custom instructions if you have any.
Click Generate Resume and review the result.
💡 To rebuild a file you already have, click Update Your Old Resume/CV instead and upload it. Climbr reworks it into a stronger master copy.
💡 Want a version aimed at one job? Open that saved job and click Generate Resume in its Actions panel for a tailored copy.
What to expect
Generation takes a few seconds, then your new resume opens. You get a formatted resume, a summary, a skills list, and ATS keywords. Climbr flags any claim it cannot trace back to your profile so you can fix it before sending. Output quality tracks how complete your profile is — the builder only uses experience you have entered.
Tips for best results
- Fill your profile first — the builder writes only from the experience and skills you provide.
- Leave template on Auto — it matches the layout to your target role without extra effort.
- Use custom instructions — ask for one page or a leadership focus to steer the draft.
- Review accuracy flags — edit any claim Climbr could not verify against your profile.
- Tailor per job — generate a job-specific version so your keywords match the posting.
